Celebrating Roy Lichtenstein's Birthday with Laurie Lambrecht

Posted on Oct 27, 2012

Prominent American pop artist, Roy Lichtenstein, was born on this day in 1923.  During the early 1990's, photographer Laurie Lambrecht served as a part-time assistant and concomitantly documented her experiences while under his employ.

Regular patrons to the Catherine Couturier Gallery (formerly John Cleary Gallery) are aware of our annual Deck the Walls holiday show, a group exhibition of vintage and contemporary pieces that allows us to showcase a variety of artists, price ranges, styles and photographic medium.  This year, we are pleased to include several of Laurie's pieces in the exhibition, some of which can be seen below.

Our Deck the Walls exhibition will run from December 1, 2012 though January 5, 2013, with an opening reception on Saturday, December 1 from 6pm - 8pm.

Fans of Lichetenstein's work in the Washington D.C. area (or those of you who might be visiting our nation's capitol during the holiday season) might be interested in visiting the National Gallery of Art's Roy Lichtenstein: A Retrospective, currently on view through January 13, 2013.
