Safe in the Studio: Erica Lee

Posted on Jun 10, 2020

Catherine Couturier Gallery continues its blog series entitled Safe in the Studio. With each blog post, works will be highlighted and discounted 20% for one week following the post’s publishing date.

Last week, Catherine Couturier Gallery featured gallery artist Kenny Braun. This week, the gallery is pleased to present the following post by gallery manager Erica Lee:

Since mid-March, I have worked for the gallery remotely. My home, which I share with my husband and a very small dog, has been great office thus far. While my husband manages to work from the sofa without a desk, I work from a normal desk with a somewhat dependable desktop.

Stuck at home but with a flexible schedule, I have gotten to try some small projects I had been putting off.

First project: Gluten Free Sourdough Starter! Yes, I am one of those people baking (and eating) bread compulsively while watching the news. The first time I tried making my own starter, the starter grew a layer of mold which was discouraging, but I succeeded the second time around.

Second project: Gardening! Well, that was mostly my husband’s project, but I participated and planted a bunch of flowers and put together a rock/succulent garden.

Third project: Reorganize! I cleaned out my closet and threw away lipstick from my first high school dance.

Beyond these small projects, I have also spent more time in my own studio. I finished a couple of paintings and started a few others.

No one knows when things will go back to normal. I look forward to seeing everyone again at our next opening reception–whenever that is. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy our online series and book a private appointment to visit our exhibitions.

This week, I am excited to share the following works by Alfred Stieglitz, Marion Post Wolcott, and George Tice.

The following three pieces are available to purchase with a 20% discount for the next week. The discount will no longer be applicable on orders made after Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 11:59PM
